Construction Manager (Chapel Hill)
The Solar Installation Construction Manager (Commercial) is the responsible party for overseeing, coordinating, and successful completing Strata Solar utility scale solar farms.
Requirements of the job:
Education:
• Minimum 4 year bachelor degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
• OSHA 30 Training required
• NABCEP PV or Thermal Certification preferred.
Experience & Skills:
• 5 years of construction management experience.
• Previous solar electricity experience highly desired.
• Must have knowledge of National Electrical Code and Uniform Building Code.
• Understanding of construction math
• Demonstrated Safe Working Practices and Knowledge of OSHA safety standards.
• Success at managing and delivering construction projects on schedule and under budget.
• Experience working with city/county permitting offices and inspectors

• Strong problem solving skills.
• Self-starter with ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Proven ability to maintain client relationships.
• Punctual and reliable.

Working Conditions:
• Must be very comfortable working on/climbing ladders and roofs.

• The majority of work is remote from the central office, requiring extended overnight stays.
• Most projects are located in North Carolina, but as the company grows jobs will be located in other states as well.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Adherence to OSHA safety regulations. Ensures no Strata employee or subcontractor operations proceed without proper safety compliance.
• Participates in pre-construction planning of projects including plan review and comments, staffing projections, project sequencing, material takeoffs, material requisitions, and creating and reviewing subcontractors scopes of work.
• Establish and maintain effective communication channels with project managers, project designers and client.
• Manage all Strata Solar and subcontracted work based on budget and man power.
• Work with Project Management to develop accurate construction schedule forecasts.
• Work directly and in conjunction with subcontractors, temporary labor, Electrician and Strata Solar employees on planning, scheduling of construction and quality control applications.
• Arrange for subcontractors and equipment rental as needed for each job.
• Manage work force, including subcontractors.
• Responsible party for daily maintenance of installation schedule.
• Translate and interpret wiring/ construction schematics (CAD) to actual installation.
• Ensure NEC and UBC Code compliance on all electrical and mechanical component installation.
• Provide guidance and technical support to the Strata personal, temp labor and subs on issues concerning electrical and building components/ applications.
• Work with procurement department on all material and equipment ordering and delivery schedules
• Maintain 1-week look-ahead schedule and attend weekly project meetings.
• Able to analyze project scenarios and implement site-specific design modifications
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Solar Superintendent (Chapel Hill)
The Solar Installation Superintendent (Commercial) is the responsible party for overseeing, coordinating, and successfully completing the array portion of Strata Solar utility scale solar farms. The Superintendent is part of the leadership team for a solar farm build along with the construction manager, lead electrician and project manager.
Requirements of the job:
Education:
• Minimum 4 year bachelor degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• OSHA 30 Training required
• NABCEP PV or Thermal Certification preferred.
Experience & Skills:
• 3 years of construction management experience.
• Previous large ground mount solar experience highly desired.
• Understanding of construction math
• Demonstrated experience implementing quality control/quality assurance processes
• Demonstrated Safe Working Practices and Knowledge of OSHA safety standards.
• Success at managing and delivering construction projects on schedule and under budget.

Lead Solar Installer (Ground Mount)
The Lead Solar Installer is the front line leader for the construction of solar arrays. The Lead Installer oversees the work of a 2-12 person installation crew working alongside of other similar crews. The Lead Installer reports to the Project Superintendent.
Requirements of the job:
Education:
• Minimum2 year Associate degree in Renewable Energy, Construction Management or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• OSHA 10 Training required, OSHA 30 preferred
Experience & Skills:
• 3 years of foreman/crew leader experience.
• Previous large ground mount solar experience highly desired.
• Understanding of construction math
• Demonstrated experience implementing quality control/quality assurance processes
• Demonstrated Safe Working Practices and Knowledge of OSHA safety standards.
• Success at managing crews and meeting daily construction milestones.
• Can train and motivate crew members.
