Strata's 67.5MW Hattiesburg Farm sits on 450 acres just south of Hattiesburg, MS. The site features approximately 200,000 solar panels generating enough electricity to power 6,500 homes. This site will help offset over 22,000 tons of CO2 per year. More than $90 million in investment went toward the project, providing a significant boost to the local economy.

“We believe that solar energy projects — when developed responsibly — create enduring, long-term value and deliver a meaningful legacy for their communities,” Matt Kisber of Silicon Ranch said.

“We’re excited about this partnership with Mississippi Power, the city of Hattiesburg and Forrest County, as well as the Area Development Partnership. The leadership and board of directors at Mississippi Power deserve tremendous credit for their vision and their commitment to bring low-cost, renewable power to their customers in southeast Mississippi,” said Kisber. “They clearly understand the economic development role they play in the region and are smart to position themselves as a leader in clean energy.”

Tony Smith, Mississippi Power renewable projects manager, says solar brings a variety of benefits as part of a well-balanced energy portfolio.

“The Hattiesburg solar farm will generate more than 100 million kilowatt-hours of clean, renewable energy every year for the next 25 years” Smith said."
